Indican Pictures will release the dog caper comedy hailed as a madcap blend of social satire on July 7, 2015.
The feature film, starring Kasi Brown (American Zombie), Brandon Walter (Yes Man), Shaina Vorspan (Redemption) has been hailed as the “comedy surprise of the year” by Scott Marks of the San Diego Reader.
Stuck in lackluster marriage, this work-a-holic couple treat their dog like a baby they never had. Working the grind in Los Angeles, leaving no time for each other and spending every free minute doting on their dog… until their furry little friend gets dognapped! What ensues is an outlandish cat and mouse adventure as they hunt down the dognapper, enlist a slick P.I., find a renewed love and conquer their fear of parenthood.
The cast has fantastic comedic timing and has all the flavor of a Christopher Guest film – it’s brilliant satire, said Mathew Roscoe of Indican Pictures.
The film has gone on to garner multiple accolades throughout its 20+ film festival run both domestically and internationally, including awards for Best Actress, Best Feature, Audience Award and Winner of Best Comedy.
The film also stars Kate Connor (The Chicago 8), Richard Riehle (Office Space), Jeff Sloniker (Silicon Valley) and of course the doggone winning performance by pooch Laila!
A portion of the films proceeds will go to supporting the efforts of the SPCA’s Los Angeles Chapter.
Gone Doggy Gone will be in rental stores, retail chains and available in 180 million homes on Video On Demand throughout North America beginning on July 7, 2015.
