About the Author:
Linda Altoonian is an acclaimed writer, editor, and educator whose distinguished career spans more than four decades. Born to Armenian American parents, Altoonian grew up immersed in a culture rich with history and tradition, and in a large close-knit family that valued hard work and success. She earned an undergraduate degree in English and Education and a Masters in Human Development. She went on to teach journalism, communications, and publication production earning yearly national awards — including State Journalism Teacher of the Year twice and the Albert Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
A former columnist for the “The Fort Worth Star-Telegram” and Editor-in-Chief of ten national magazines, she was commissioned by their families to produce collectors editions celebrating icons Mickey Mantle and Selena, and has even received a Presidential Service Award from President Bill Clinton for her contribution to organ donation awareness. She was also commissioned by the City of Arlington to write Sister Cities Forever, the beautiful story about 75 years of sisterhood between Arlington and a village in Bavaria that was in desperate trouble at the end of WW11. The village was saved by the supplies the city sent them four for years.
