Southern Indiana - September 18, 2024 - Panther Ridge, Southern Indiana’s longest-running training facility, is excited to announce two new courses designed to empower individuals with the necessary life-saving skills: Critical First Aid and Emergency Response Training. Both courses are aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to handle medical emergencies in various situations, for the safety and well-being of the people around them.

What Participants Should Expect from The Courses

The Critical First Aid course focuses on teaching medical skills that could make the difference between life and death in emergency situations. Attendees will learn how to stop bleeding, manage wounds, perform CPR, and treat burns or fractures. The course emphasizes hands-on practice, giving participants real-world experience in applying necessary techniques.

“Emergencies happen when you least expect them, and the ability to act quickly and efficiently is key,” said Jerimiah Barthold, founder of Panther Ridge. “Our Critical First Aid course is designed to give people the confidence to step in and save lives when seconds matter.”

The Emergency Response Training course takes things a step further, focusing on crisis scenarios, from natural disasters to accidents. Attendees will learn how to stay calm and coordinate effective responses, evacuation protocols, how to assess danger, and techniques for assisting others in chaotic environments.

“Both courses offer practical, hands-on training that prepares people for real-world scenarios,” Barthold explained. “We want to give as many people as possible life-saving knowledge, so they know what to in the event of an accident, a home emergency, or even a natural disaster.”

Benefits for Attendees

Attendees will leave with certifications in first aid and emergency response, a valuable asset for personal and even professional use. The skills are applicable in everyday life, from helping a loved one in a medical emergency to being a resource in your local community during large-scale crises.

Barthold added, “What we’ve set up is not another random training course; we’re hoping to help build a safer, more prepared community. When you know what to do in an emergency, you become a first responder in your own right, potentially saving lives and helping others.”

Contributions to the Southern Indiana Community

With both courses, Panther Ridge is strengthening the fabric of the local community, providing needed education that could prevent unnecessary loss of life.

“Southern Indiana is home to close-knit communities, and having more people equipped with all the trained skills means we’re all safer,” said Barthold. “They are tools that everyone should have in their back pocket, whether you're a parent, a teacher, or just someone who wants to be prepared.”
