The Grace Program brings affordable, evidence-based therapy within reach via their online sessions
The Grace Program is a virtual psychotherapy practice founded by a team of mental health workers to provide evidence-based talk therapy to as many people as possible across the United States, from New York City to California. The registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) aims to improve access to quality on-demand therapy services. Their goal is to help people, regardless of their location and without breaking the bank.
"Using evidence-based tools, we can help our clients realize their inner strengths. We focus on problem-solving with people searching for a confidential and effective support system outside of family and friends," says Grace Program counselor-resident Vanessa Orellana. Vanessa currently works with military families.
Millions of people across the United States and other parts of the world continue to struggle with different kinds of emotional and psychological issues due to increased isolation, family conflict, and unforeseen outcomes. Recent developments around the COVID-19 pandemic and other events have exacerbated the issue. Unfortunately, many people do not have access to solutions to help them process and heal from these psychological stressors. Distance and cost remain a barrier to treatment. The team at The Grace Program is looking to change this narrative by creating a platform for people to explore sources of emotional distress via a virtual space.
The Grace Program is uniquely affordable and accessible. It supports everyone regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender. The virtual psychotherapy practice was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic amid increasing demand for online therapy.
"Our approach to therapy is highly structured, evidence-based, and comprehensive,” says Grace Program counselor-resident Iasisha Horry. Iasisha currently facilitates a support group for teens.
In addition to providing evidence-based treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), music therapy, and mindfulness, The Grace Program also offers free and low-cost resources to help people cope with anxiety, depression, and grief. The practice will launch a free video series titled, “Wellness Workshops.” The workshops are designed to teach people evidence-based techniques to improve their emotional wellbeing, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and the holidays.
