Award-winning author Odile Koudou has been selected and nominated to receive the 2019 Casa Film and Music Award’s Lifetime Achievement honor. The Selection Committee will host a series of celebrations from January 11th through January 13th, 2019 in Senegal to honor this year’s nominees and recipients.
Koudou will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award on January 12th where she will be honored at the awards dinner. After being nominated alongside other individuals, her demonstration of excellence and high standards of ethical conduct, integrity, civic and social responsibility led to her winning the nomination.
Her inspirational novel, “Un Tresor en Heritage” / “The Blessing Legacy: A Memoir of Africa, a Father's Faith, and a Destiny Fulfilled," has received numerous festival honors and praise from the media and organizations nationwide. The book has been placement in hundreds of libraries across the U.S., along with some of the country’s most respected institutions such as Princeton and Stanford.
A true story of faith, inspiration, and perseverance, “The Blessing Legacy” honors the life of the author’s late father, Orega Koudou, who rose out of poverty to teach his daughter to never give up on her dreams.
