"I adore Nicky," beams CHARLIE BOY director Timothy Hines. "She is such a pleasure to work with. Anything I ever do I will invite her on my sets. She is cool and edgy and smart and kind. When I first met her at a reading for Charlie Boy she was so funny I practically choked on my coffee. There is a truth in her work that is rare. It is instant and visceral. She exudes an underlying humanity that suggests she's got her eye on things and is watching out for us."
In CHARLIE BOY, Nicky Sunshine plays a hard working woman from Astoria who inherited a Pizza Parlor and "a ton of debt" from her recently deceased husband. "Her performance is sublime," says producer Susan Goforth. "Nicky brings something special to CHARLIE BOY, and I am sure it is in no small part due to the fact that Nicky is a constantly working professional standup comedian as well as a very talented actress."
"CHARLIE BOY" star Greg Kritikos wrote the part in CHARLIE BOY for Nicky and she knew just what to do with the part," adds director Timothy Hines.

Timothy Hines' "CHARLIE BOY" is a somewhat loosely based autobiographical story of New York stand up comic Greg Kritikos, written by Kritikos and Frederick Stroppel. CHARLIE BOY is the story of former mob member Charlie Borakas, who had an awakening after the tragic death of his son and became a stand up comic. Seeking redemption for his former life, Charlie reaches out to right his wrongs and help a young man who's life is threatened from gambling debts. Charlie is pulled into a face to face confrontation with the mob, the results of which cause others in the mob to follow his lead and uplift his entire community of Astoria, New York forever.
