Cinema Island Production, a movie production company based in West Palm Beach, FL, has announced launch of a fundraiser on Kickstarter for funding the production of The Flatwoods Monster. The movie is based on a true life incident on the 1952 UFO sightings.
“We have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $350,000 to fund the production of the movie The Flatwoods Monster,” says the spokesperson for Cinema Island Production. “We have done everything needed for smooth launch of the project, including budgeting for a complete bond. The Flatwoods Monster has been inspired by a true story of 1952 UFO Sightings. There is documented information provided by hundreds of people who had reported seeing a UFO crash land in Flatwoods West Virginia in 1952. Footage of the news reports of the crash landing, the subsequent search, a dog dying and the children being hospitalized after fleeing the Monster is available till date. However, it is a known fact that there was no thorough investigation of the incident or of the site where the UFO reportedly crash landed. There was a one day investigation by authorities, the report of which were either covered up or lost.
This is undoubtedly a funding campaign of a unique kind that requires a different approach that the ones that small-scale films have while raising money on Kickstarter. This is a big movie with a star-studded cast and mounted on a huge canvas to bring to the audience the real story behind that 1952 incident.

The director of sound for this film was nominated for an Emmy Award 22 times. Also, the special effects supervisor is a two-time Academy Award winner.
