Registrations Open for the 28th Annual Frank Stark Celebration Ride

Boca Raton, FL - It’s that time of the year again when biking lovers throng to Florida for the Annual Frank Stark Celebration Ride. The 28th edition of the hottest ride in Florida is around the corner, to be held on Sunday, July 16. Registrations are open online and via mail for adults and minors, and the proceeds will go towards supporting various charitable causes.

The Frank Stark Celebration Ride goes full throttle this year with everything that makes it one of the best bike rides in Florida. Riders will pass along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, from Boca Raton to the scenic mansions of Palm Beach, with a choice of 30 or 62 mile routes. The Vendor village this year will be bigger and, better too. There will be well stocked rest stops along the way with food and cold drinks. Upon return cool down and reenergize with an ice cold towel, then enjoy a full lunch and free ice-cream.

The Boca Raton Bicycle Club has been successful in increasing bicycling presence in the community, with people of all ages. The proceeds from donations and the Frank Stark Celebration Ride will support the club’s bike and helmet give-away programs to disadvantaged school kids, PAL events benefiting families of fallen officers and cycling safety and advocacy programs through the League of American Bicyclists and the Florida Bicycling Association.

The Frank Stark Celebration Ride is held annually in the memory of Frank Stark, who was a member of the Boca Raton Bicycle Club and a former airline pilot. Frank was forced to retire because of quadruple by-pass heart surgery and two heart attacks. As part of his recovery, Frank took up cycling and celebrated his birthday by riding a mile for each year of his age.  The ride is family friendly, with participant’s experience levels ranging from beginners to professionals. The ride starts and ends at Boca Raton city hall with full support along the way.

“We welcome everyone to join some 700 riders on July 16th for the Hottest Ride of the year and stay for lunch at our extensive vendor village,” said Bruce Rosenzweig of Boca Raton Bicycle Club.

The Boca Raton Bicycle Club welcomes new members into its fold to enjoy hundreds of recurring rides it organizes through the year in and around Boca Raton. The Club also offers periodic, short instructional rides for children and beginners guided by trained directors.
