Grand Final Of The 2025 "Digital Heritage" Global Innovator Contest

On August 14, the Grand Final of the 2025 “DIGITAL HERITAGE” Global Innovator Contest were held at the NanJing Great Bao'en Temple Ruins Museum.

This year’s competition, themed “One City, One Tower, One River”(Ming City Wall, Porcelain Tower, Qinhuai River), invited young innovator from around the world to explore cultural heritage preservation together.

On site, 31 young creators presented their digital art installation models, completed after a two-week residency program. Nearly one hundred local teachers, students, citizens,museum professionals,designers and visitors witnessed how these models responded to the “contemporary public needs.”

After evaluation by an international jury, the team EchoSilk won the championship. Four other teams received awards for Best Global Appeal, Best Aesthetics, Best Interactive Experience, and Best Heritage Narrative.

The EchoSilk team was composed of Yin Shaoyang and Yang Zhao from China, Zaid Khan from India, and Asaf Guluzade from Azerbaijan. Yin Shaoyang said: “Inspired by the wind chimes of the long-lost Porcelain Tower of Nanjing Great Bao'en Temple, our design seeks to reawaken the city’s dormant memories.”

This year’s competition received strong engagement from international institutions such as UNESCO, with academic support from 13 universities and organizations including University College London and Tsinghua University. Nearly 700 young creative talents from 19 countries actively participated, contributing their innovative proposals.

In the future, the creative installation “Garden of Living Bells” will be officially unveiled on the rooftop of the NanJing Great Bao'en Temple Ruins Museum.
