Wolves of Savin Hill director nominated for prestigious filmmaking award

John Beaton Hill film will screen at the San Diego Film Festival

Talented new filmmaker John Beaton Hill has been nominated for the annual Chris Brinker award by the San Diego Film Festival.

The Brinker award, named after the late producer and filmmaker (best known for producing the cult hit The Boondock Saints), recognizes gifted first time feature filmmaker's who have been accepted into the festival.

Hill's film The Wolves of Savin Hill, the enthralling and thrilling story of two childhood friends reunited under tragic cirumstances, caught the eye of the jury. The film will screen at the San Diego Film Festival on Sept 27.

Featuring an electric cast including Jack McGee (Rescue Me, The Fighter) and Kurt Fuller (Supernatural, The Pursuit of Happyness), Wolves of Savin Hill is the thrilling chronicle of two childhood friends who reunite under tragic cirumstances.

Bostonian Hill is a graduate of Syracuse University and attended The University of Wisconsin, Madison as well as National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut. Before making a name for himself as a filmmaker, Hill was an accomplished gymnast at Syracuse University where he was the recipient of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Award for most outstanding student athlete and was also the featured gymnast in the 1992 Olympic Games closing ceremonies in Barcelona, Spain.
