Prurigo Nodularis (PN), one of the various subtypes of prurigo, is a chronic, bothersome-to-debilitating disease of the skin, usually seen as multiple, intensely pruritic, and excoriated nodules erupting on the surfaces of the extremities with intense itching or rubbing. PNs are cutaneous lesions often produced by repetitive scratching; hence the nickname “picker’s nodules”, which may occur as a sequel to chronic pruritus or neurotic excoriations. After establishing a perpetual itch-scratch cycle, lichenification of the skin may ensue, resulting in chronic dermatitis termed lichen simplex chronicus. Several lesions in different stages and sizes, may co-exist in patients with chronic pruritus, which were induced by chronic scratching.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), a bunion, known technically as hallux valgus, is a bony bump on the side of the foot at the base of the big toe. Bunions develop slowly as pressure on the joint at the base of the big toe causes the toe to move out of place, leaning inward toward the second toe. It is a progressive foot deformity in which the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint is affected and is often accompanied by significant functional disability and foot pain. At a late stage, these changes lead to pain and functional deficit: i.e. impaired gait (lateral and posterior weight shift, late heel rise, decreased single-limb balance, and pronation deformity.

Hi-Tek Media/Omni Veil Inc. Partners with ISIGN Media for Safety Alert Messaging (“SAM”) Solution to Provide the Public with Instant Mobile Alerts for COVID-19 at No Charge

Las Vegas, NV - Mar 31, 2020 - Hi-Tek Media/Omni Veil Inc. has partnered with iSIGN Media Solutions Inc. (TSX-V: ISD) (OTC: ISDSF), to announce the offer of free use of iSIGN’s Safety Alert Messaging (“SAM”) solution to all levels of medical, health and emergency responders across the U.S. for the next six months.

The goal of this partnership between Hi-Tek Media/Omni Veil Inc. and iSIGN Media is to help our respective medical services, governments, schools and communities combat the spread of COVID-19 and aid in the return of normalcy to everyday life as swiftly as possible.

Right before the announcement of U.S. quarantine, Omni Veil Inc. recently launched their digital network, powered by iSIGN, across Las Vegas. The system is Bluetooth, WiFi and APP based, allowing access to any visitor under the veil no matter their mobile device. The mobile machine provides branded content, video, web link and text notifications. “We want to be sure to do our part to help keep everyone safe. We will get through this, together. We want to keep everyone connected in real time. Our partnership with ISIGN is an excellent resource for the people.” Said Omni Veil President, Michele Bedwell.

We believe that SAM is a tool that would be of interest to newspapers, radio and television stations to expand their reach in the reporting on COVID-19.

SAM is a technology based mobile messaging system that enables the controlled broadcast of critical information to registered recipients.  Registered recipients can be as broad as the general public, or as narrow as salaried and contract employees and can be assigned into various sub-groups, allowing for messages to be directed only to specific groups or to everyone, depending on needs.  Due to SAM’s ‘message received’ alert function, SAM messages are more obvious to recipients when they are received than texts and email.

As an example, should a hospital administrator want to message individual groups of workers, such as doctors, nurses, cleaning staff, etc., iSIGN’s backend dashboard can be used to assign all registrants into their respective groups.  Then the administrator would simple select who they wished the message to be sent to – one group, multiple groups or all groups. SAM supports iOS and Android in-app messaging, the SAM app is available in both the Google Play and Apple app stores.  Broadcasters log into the SAM dashboard via their web browser, create and then send messages to their registered recipients in a matter of minutes.  Sent messages are stored within the dashboard for later reference as required until the sender deletes them.

Deltec Bank, the Bahamas, says, AI neural networks will positively disrupt banking

Deltec Bank, the Bahamas, says, AI neural networks will positively disrupt banking
Deltec Bank - Artificial Intelligence

Neural Networks and Machine Learning go hand in hand to interpret and observe data sets. The neural network does what can be called “the dirty work” to output accurate predictions to assist with decision making. The concept of Neural Networks is to mirror the human brain and model complex patterns. These patterns can stem from images, text or sound, labeled or unlabelled. Labeled inputs and outputs mean that data translation is structured.

Neural Networks have now been realized as playing an important role in banking operations. Here are the predicted ways neural networks will disrupt the banking industry:

  1. Locate Credit Card Customers – To maintain sustainable revenue, credit cards need to find the ideal customer. Business profits would significantly reduce if customers that obtain a credit card are not using it. Consider revenue being applied through incremental costs to customers using the credit card to purchase products. If customers obtain credit but don’t use it, the business loses revenue. Neural Networks use intelligent analytics to determine the best customer that will guarantee to generate sufficient revenue. Through the analysis of regular credit card customers, understanding behaviors and habits will help find the ideal customer.

  2. Detect Fraud Through Image Recognition – Image recognition is something that neural networks excel at. The neural network architecture is mirrored to the human brain and can analyze features through trained algorithms to understand the characteristics of a particular image. Through these input features, the model is trained to predict the result. Translating this to banking, neural networks can play a key role in performing image recognition to detect fraudulent transactions and locate where that transaction came from. Neural networks learn features from the data processed and are trained to identify the characteristics of the fraudulent person.

  3. Stock Market Forecasts – Before AI came into existence, many predictors attempted to determine stock market direction through statistics and linear regression concepts. These techniques were used based on human prediction. Neural networks are more accurate when forecasting stock market indices. According to Deltec Bank, Bahamas- “Through predictive analytics, neural networks learn off historical data and historical trends to predict the direction of the market through trained variables and hidden layers.”

  4. Loan Application Evaluation – Loan applications can harm a person’s credit score. All credit histories are hard searched for a person can be considered eligible for a loan application. It is standard for loan applications to be submitted. However, The lender’s role is to see the applicant has no financial difficulties. Banks are aiming to reduce the failure rate of loan applications to help maximize returns. Banks are now seeking to use neural networks to support the process of performing due diligence on an applicant. This works through analyzing any previous failed applications and payment trends before deciding. Neural networks may easily do this and, is expected to be more accurate in its decision making.

Deltec Bank - Bahamas says, “Neural networks haven’t entirely come to the fore of artificial intelligence for banking institutions yet. However, its capability to mirror human decisions will only produce many benefits to customer service, decision making, and internal operations.”

To sum up, neural networks are the driver of deep learning algorithms to represent a human brain’s biological neuron network. There are many ways that neural networks can improve banking operations through predictive analytics to output the accurate decision, to better enhance service of customers and streamline processes, cutting out the middleman and reduce waiting time to make a decision. Neural Networks will eventually form a key foundation layer for bankers to improve automation.
