MaxxStick, a Canadian PC gaming hardware company focused on rethinking movement on keyboard and mouse, has officially launched the MaxxStick Ergo Pro, its first mass-produced PC gaming keyboard joystick.
The Ergo Pro is designed to move player movement from the keyboard to the thumb, freeing fingers for critical keybinds while maintaining full keyboard and mouse gameplay. Built as a true keyboard joystick, it offers an alternative to traditional WASD movement without requiring players to switch to a controller.
This launch marks a major milestone for MaxxStick as the company transitions from limited 3D-printed production to full-scale mass manufacturing. The Ergo Pro features a hall effect joystick, a 1000 Hz polling rate, plug-and-play USB-C connectivity, and an ergonomic, contoured design built for long play sessions.
The MaxxStick adapts to how each game handles input. In games that allow controller and keyboard input simultaneously, the Ergo Pro provides true analog movement. In games that restrict inputs to keyboard only, the Ergo Pro functions in keyboard mode, actuating movement keys directly so players can keep movement on their thumb without sacrificing compatibility.
All configuration is handled through the Maxx Utility web tool, which allows players to customize movement behavior, save profiles, and store settings directly on the device so they carry across PCs. MaxxStick has also developed game-specific features over time, including optional Fortnite movement tools such as Fast Turns and Fortnite Movement Lock.
