The Etruscan Smile, a film by Arthur Cohn Productions, is making its entry into the US market.

The Etruscan Smile US Premiere by Stony Brook Film Festival NY
The US premiere was recently screened at the 23rd Annual Stony Brook Film Festival and won the Grand Prize with a standing ovation from the audience.

The Etruscan Smile was directed by Oded Binnun and Mihal Brezis and starring Emmy winner Brian Cox (Succession, The Jason Bourne Franchise), Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction, Ray Donavan), Thora Birch (American Beauty, Patriot Games), Sandra Santiago (Hostile Border, Sangre Negra), and JJ Feild (Captain America, K-19 The Widowmaker).

This is a moving film that shows the important message of humanity.  The story is about a tough old Scotsman, Rory MacNeil (with the brilliant performance by Brian Cox), as he travels from his home on the remote island of Vallasay, Scotland to San Francisco.  Seeking treatment for a terminal illness, the ailing yet colorful character stays with his son and his family.  Rory finds his precious last days transformed as he bonds with his American grandson. The film is originally based on the Spanish novel "La Sonrisa Etrusca", which was released in Spain in 1985 by Spanish writer José Luis Sampedro.

This film was recently screened for the first time in the US at Stony Brook Film Fest in New York. Cast members participated in the Q & A - Thora Birch, Brian Cox and latin actress Sandra Santiago.  During the session, Brian Cox commented, "Movies are such a crapshoot these days, ya know? You make these films and the business of getting them out there.  That's why I'm so grateful to Alan (the film fest director) for taking the movie on.   I think this is one of the great festivals of all time. It really is. It's very much down to Alan and his incredible team".
