RTX Seeks to Increase Its Footprint in Mexico After Attending AMDETUR

AMDETUR's conference, whose theme was, "Disruption: The New Beginning" was RTX's introduction to AMDETUR since the company joined the influential organization in April 2018.

Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), the award-winning vacation exchange service provider based in Asheville, North Carolina, has made tremendous strides in expanding its company’s reach in the rapidly growing Mexican timeshare market since joining the Mexican Resort Development Association (AMDETUR) and attending AMDETUR’s yearly conference held last month in Mexico City.

Established 31 years ago, AMDETUR’s continued mission has been to promote the development of the vacation ownership industry in Mexico. As a liaison between developers and the Mexican government, AMDETUR has played a pivotal role in the growth of the resort industry and currently represents 90 percent of all developers in Mexico. In 2016, a record number of 35 million travelers visited Mexico and that same year, The New York Times named Mexico City as the number one place to visit in the world.

AMDETUR’s conference, whose theme was, “Disruption: The New Beginning” was RTX’s introduction to AMDETUR since the company joined the influential organization in April 2018. For the past year, RTX has set its sights on the fruitful Mexican tourism industry by connecting with resort developers who want to provide the best exchange options for members. Likewise, RTX seeks to provide their 80,000 members more choices when traveling to the 8th most popular tourist destination.

“After attending the AMDETUR conference, we definitely realize that there is an opportunity for growth. The increased development, a lot of high end, 5-star resorts, and a lot of all-inclusive properties make Mexico a primary target for us as we want to incorporate these locations into RTX’s profile for our members. Overall, it was a good experience and the educational sessions about Mexico tourism and the state of the industry were valuable,” stated Corina Violette, director of resort partnerships for RTX.

In addition to attending AMDETUR, RTX has had a full industry conference schedule for 2018. In February, the company sponsored and attended GNEX 2018 in Miami, Florida, sponsored C.A.R.E.’s 66th conference in Austin, Texas, exhibited and sponsored the largest industry event of the year, ARDA World 2018 held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and sponsored and presented at the TBMA Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Since 2012, RTX has remained at the forefront in providing the best customer service possible to all of its 80,000 members worldwide. With a strong focus on consumer education, RTX offers superior benefits and perks like low fees on flexible exchanges, up to four years of deposit length, and deep travel discounts.
