Hair Loss and Balding Banished In Canada by End of Decade

New patient studies worldwide have revealed some encouraging news for the world’s 35 million men and 21 million women who suffer hair loss. Five of these studies were published this year in the Netherlands, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan and United States. (See below)

Each country was looking into a hair loss treatment using Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP. More research is being released every day regarding the effectiveness of PRP for hair loss, including some medical hair loss problems. PRP is still a relatively new treatment for male pattern baldness, and while it does not generate new hair follicles where none exist, the studies suggest it could be a good option for patients who don’t like the idea of hair transplants.

So how does PRP work? The treatment involves drawing the patient’s blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red and white cells. After adding nutrients like protein, the platelets and growth factors are collected from the sample and injected into the scalp where the hair is thinning. The procedure is non-surgical and requires only local anaesthesia.

Sports medicine has used PRP for years to treat injuries to the Achilles tendon, joints and muscles by stimulating stem cells. In the case of hair loss, the injected platelets prompt inactive or newly implanted hair follicles to enter an active growth phase, causing the hair to start growing again.

If you are contemplating getting a PRP treatment on your scalp, it is essential to choose a reputable hair restoration surgeon with significant experience in the use of PRP for hair growth purposes.

CEO of Canada MedLaser Clinics says, “There are a large number of clinics that specialise in cosmetic procedures as well as numerous plastic surgeons who all offer PRP treatments for hair growth. Few of these clinics and surgeons are specialised in treating hair loss.”

Whether PRP will banish balding scalps by 2020 remains to be seen, but even if it does, we human beings are rarely content with the way we look.  What about those annoying wrinkles or age-spots?  Or the agony of acne? Once again, the latest treatments are helping banish these irritating skin problems.

Canada MedLaser Clinics’ medical aesthetician said, “These latest, non surgical treatments work on the dermis to permanently remove sun or age spots. They draw uneven tone or pigment right out of the skin, getting rid of it completely.”

Canada MedLaser Clinics is a leading cosmetic clinic offering a wide variety of hair, skin and body treatments. Their CEO says, “We’re proudly Canadian and passionate about providing results-oriented treatment options that heal and improve the skin and body, in an environment of tranquility and comfort.”
