The Cinderella Program Arrives in Fort Worth Making Dreams Come True

The Cinderella program is the brainchild of Carolyn Maker. Ms Maker founded and began the 501(c)(3) mentoring program in 2006 with a desire to help improve the lives of "at-risk" females who range in age from seven to seventeen, who after successful completion of the program, attend the Annual Cinderella Ball.

Fort Worth, TX - February 20, 2018 - The Cinderella Program is nothing short of a fairytale. The aim of the program is to empower the young ladies to dream big and support them in realizing their goals. The Cinderella Program has been created to help at-risk youth who either lack the resources or the self-esteem needed to live a better quality of life in their communities. The program will help the girls to make positive life choices that will enable them to maximize their future.

The Cinderella Program will assess the needs of each mentee and then assign them to appropriate mentors. To maximize the level of success for the young ladies, the mentors are carefully selected and matched with their mentee based on the qualifications of the mentor, and the needs of the young lady. The mentor will assist her mentee in discovering her potential by assessing and detecting areas in need of development. This in turn will help promote and foster positive life skills and impact their personal and professional future; further contributing to the reduction of crime among their peers.

Ms. Maker was quoted as saying, “My grandmother played a vital role in my upbringing by showing me the support and courage to overcome difficult circumstances, and to teach me to believe that I could make a difference in the lives of others.”

The Cinderella Program has been recognized by various media sources, churches, Statesmen, and organizations from Oregon to Texas.

The Cinderella Program received an Appreciation Letter from Theodore Kulongoski, Governor of Oregon, January 23, 2007; on October 4, 2007 the organization appeared in The Oregonian Weekly Family Newspaper; and in December 2017, they were featured in Fort Worth Black News.
