DALLAS, TX - By harnessing technology, Natalie Jones Evans aims to make cutting-edge speech and language therapy resources more accessible to parents and children alike. The "Connecting Kids with Communication" program is packed with information proven to help the entire family. The program, along with Evan’s companion book, “HELP! My Kid Isn’t Talking” will be highlighted to the public on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 during a launch party at Dallas’ Tower Club at 8 PM.

After devastating budget cuts, losses of public funding, insurance denials, and limited service areas, children in Texas struggle to gain access to crucial speech therapy services. Over the last 14 years, Ms. Evans has dedicated herself to gaining education, training, and experience in the areas of early language development, feeding, and swallowing. Connecting her skills to a wider audience through an online gateway was the next logical step. Evan’s program is designed to bring progress, peace, and balance to the busy homes of each family as it works through childhood speech challenges.

During her time as a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, Evans noticed that many of the parents of her patients were overwhelmed, worn out, and misunderstood by family and friends. These parents felt judged because of their child’s speech and often received well-meaning, but unhelpful and damaging advice. Evans realized that these parents needed better support, effective information, and encouragement from professionals.

At the age of 16, Ms. Evans made it her mission to empower young people as a Speech-Language Pathologist. After observing how in-home therapies helped her grandfather following a stroke, Evans realized the importance of therapy for diminishing stress and improving quality of life. “I chose this path because it truly is an honor and a privilege to be part of such a dynamic profession that allows me to share my commitment and dedication by helping others,” says Evans. She believes that getting children the help they need early in life should be the highest priority since speech therapy can enhance children’s communication skills and self-esteem for the rest of their lives.

Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology from the Xavier University of Louisiana and has since worked with many children with varying disorders and diagnosis. Between 2009 and 2011 she earned a Certificate in Behavior Intervention in Autism from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, a Master of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Tennessee State University, and completed her Clinical Fellowship in Speech Pathology.

Today, Natalie J. Evans is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with licensure in the state of Texas. She is a Certified Autism Specialist and Board-Certified Cognitive Specialist, with certification through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). She is the CEO of Puzzle Piece Kids, a private speech, language, and feeding office for pediatric patients in Mesquite and Duncanville, Texas. They also offer in-home care.
