A new release tells the story of an adventurous California country boy who grew up to fly helicopters in the military. A Higher Calling (Redemption Press 2017), written by Dan Miller moves from the exploration of a free-ranging childhood to the wider arena and challenges of military life as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.
After four years in the army and six years flying for the California National Guard, his life descended into the nightlife of card rooms and professional gambling. When it all fell apart, Dan Miller came face to face with his need for God.
Miller, now a retired minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church says, “I should have been in prison or dead long ago, but one December night changed my life.” Miller writes for anyone going through a difficult time, either with addiction or relational problems. He says, “There is a solution if one is willing to accept it.” Dan Miller’s life story shows how God’s love can bring transformation and hope into any life.
