Alfa Chemistry Launched its Featured Nanomaterials Products

On January 18, 2018, Alfa Chemistry launched its featured nanomaterials products due to the high demands from the customers all over the world.

In general, nanomaterials are refer to materials with structural units in the range of 1 nanometer to 100 nanometers, and in the strict it also can be defined as physical substances of which a single unit is sized between 1 and 1000 nanometers (10−9 meter).

The reason why the physical properties such as melting point, magnetic and optical properties, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity of nanomaterial is differ from bulk materials is because the surface area of nanoparticle is relatively broader since the surface of the ultrafine particles is covered with staircase structures, which represents unstable atoms with high energy. Such atoms are easily bonded with foreign atoms, and at the mean time more active atoms with a large surface can be produced due to their reduced particle size.

Nanomaterials can be divided into four categories: nanopowder, nanofiber, nanofilm and nanoblock, among which the technology for producing nanopowder is most mature, which is the basis to produce other three types of products.

Materials with nanostructures often possess unique optical, acoustic electronic, magnetic and mechanical properties. Based on materials science methods, plus materials metrology and synthesis, the nanomaterials can be developed to feature products for many applications. Because of the optical properties such as optical nonlinearity, light absorption, light reflection of nanomaterials, they can be used as optical materials like optical fiber, infrared emitting material, UV absorption lamps and so on. Nanomaterials are very sensitive to the surrounding environmental factors including light, temperature, atmosphere, humidity. Due to their large specific surface area, nanomaterials also can be used to produce sensors, such as temperature sensor, gas sensor, light sensor and humidity sensors. The reason why nanomaterials are different from macroscopic materials is because of their unique quantum properties including quantum size effect, quantum confinement effect, macroscopic quantum tunneling effect and surface effect, and which is why the nanomaterials have wide application prospects in the fields of bioengineering, medicine, molecular self-assembly and so on.

“Recently, we launched our featured nanomaterials products due to the high demands from our customers.” Says Dr. Brenda Randy, the marketing manager of Alfa Chemistry, “We offer a powerful range of featured nanomaterials including carbon nanotubes, graphene, inorganic nanomaterials and metal nanomaterials.”
