New Release Tackles the Question of Identity

Many individuals who want to know more about themselves often utilize assessment tools such as personality tests. They also seek answers through the eyes of others as mirrors for themselves. While these tools are helpful, in the end, people find themselves in a circle—unable to make the connection from the assessment to their identity.  However, publishing author, Vivalyn Elvy discovers the key to unveiling one’s identity in her own self-searching journey, revealed in her new release book, Who Am I? (Redemption Press 2017). Elvy says, “Our true selves or authentic identity is only defined by God. He sees us complete, whole, perfect, and valuable in Christ.”

Vivalyn Elvy was born in the West Indies and immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1980s to live with her father. She says applying God’s word while overcoming obstacles, insecurities, and fears, has helped her become who she is today.  The author experienced learning how much God loves her and says, “I want everyone to apply God’s Word in their lives and see how much the Father truly loves and values them as a loving parent who wants the best for His children.”

In Who Am I? Elvy hopes to show readers how to maintain a positive mindset in a negative world, and clear up some misconceptions of who God is. “It’s time for the Church to take its rightful place as heirs of God, powerful, and valuable beings and stop thinking of themselves as ‘mere humans’ with negative connotations.” Elvy adds, “Accepting Christ’s complete work on the cross and seeing ourselves through the eyes of a loving Father—that’s what truly matters.”
