MindStir Media author Thomas G. Morgan receives rave reviews for his two published books

Thomas G. Morgan, author of Shotgun Preacher and Glimpses, has received positive reviews from The US Review of Books, BlueInk Review and Michael J. McNaughton.

The US Review of Books recommended Shotgun Preacher and called it “an intriguing blend of human drama, religion, politics, opinion, and history … Morgan offers up a passionate story of a man determined to overcome his circumstances and live out his faith… Morgan's tale of his eponymous character is both entertaining and informative. And like all good stories, it leaves the reader wanting more.”

BlueInk Review hailed Glimpses as a “compelling memoir” and praised the author: “In Morgan, readers will find a splendid writer and think.”

Michael J. McNaughton, Founding Chairman of Indiana’s Fair Play for Cuba Committee, shared his love for Shotgun Preacher as well: “Suffice it to say that he endured…bringing us an account of a truly authentic life full of the wonders of Marco Polo’s travels, a continuum of love for his dearest wife Wendi, extended family, friends and comrades which survives the rot of lost loves and a wondrous emergence of rootedness with the land, kin, husbandry of other creatures and the radically continuing substantiveness of hard work.”

Shotgun Preacher and Glimpsesare available at Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com and other fine retailers worldwide. Wholesale orders can be placed through Ingram. About author Thomas G. Morgan:

Born (1940) to working class parents who experienced Terre Haute’s General Strike (1935). He has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University. In 1960, he hitchhiked across Europe, North Africa and Russia working on farms, writing feature stories for the Terre Haute Tribune. Returning home, he chaired the student-faculty committee that founded the Eugene V. Debs Foundation for Socialist History and Thought. The next year, he was indicted under the Indiana Anti-Subversive Act as an officer of the Young Socialist Alliance and faced two to six years imprisonment. An International Defense Committee was formed; Bertrand Russell Chairman, convened Norman Mailer and Malcolm X on the east coast; film actor Sterling Hayden on west coast. Hayden had been an OSS operative who fought with Resistance fighters against Hitler.  Meeting Tom, his compliment was, “America is becoming an ‘Occupied Country’, but I’ve met a young man from Indiana convincing me there are pockets of resistance.” Tom Morgan’s life and writing continue that resistance.
