In recent weeks, several “bombshells” have been dropped by the current White House administration. From the firing of FBI Director James Comey, to new evidence that points at Russian interference in the U.S. democratic process, as well as simmering discontent over the president’s refusal to release his tax return, Americans stand appalled by what is happening in Washington D.C. As such, activists across the United States are joining together to demand the truth on June 3, 2017: the public wants transparency and will not be ignored. The citizens of Charlotte, North Carolina are no exception. Charlotte Humans for Positive Progress will be holding a peaceful march on June 3, 2017 from 12-2pm p.m. at Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte.
The rally is open to all who wish to attend – so long as activities remain positive and non-violent. The goal is to emphasize that members of the public do care about the government’s transparency and truthfulness to the American people.
“We are concerned about the direction that the current administration is heading in, and are frankly shocked by some of the lies and mistruths that are offered by high-level representatives within the government—including the president,” says Eric Bostic, event organizer and member of Charlotte Humans for Positive Progress. “The president’s decision to fire Director Comey, his stubborn refusal to release his tax returns, and the uncovering of more ties to Russian involvement in the 2016 election and in our democratic process are troubling.”
The event is being organized by Charlotte Humans for Positive Progress. The group is passionate about protecting the rights of all Americans and supporting positive advancements in society through peaceful and informed demonstrations. They work closely with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and other authorities to ensure proper permits and notifications are in place to keep everyone safe.
The March for Truth will be held at Romare Bearden Park, located at the corner of 3rd and Church Streets in Uptown Charlotte. Individuals are encouraged to attend and make their voice. Charlotte will join 70+ cities across the country, including New York, Boston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, to show support and demand transparency.
