Brazilian Wants To Develop American Soccer Talent

By: Judith Rodriguez

Brazil is known for being the mecca of soccer. Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka-- all World Cup winners who hail from the Portuguese-speaking nation in South America. For Brazilians soccer is part of their DNA.

That is the case for Anderson Cardoso a youth soccer development expert who wants the next generation of soccer superstars to come from America.

“I want to spot and train the Messi of America”, said Anderson gleefully as he prepared his latest team SIMA of Florida for their opening match in the Premier Development League.

Cardoso, who is co-author of “Kicking It To The Next Level” a book about soccer preparation has been making news in America’s top youth soccer leagues.

As head coach of the Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy he has won important national titles including Disney Soccer Showcase Champions 2016 and the MAST International 2017.  In 2016 he also won the TCCL Tournament  Championship which positioned SIMA as number 1 ranked among youth soccer academies.  US Soccer sanctions all of the tournaments.

In Brazil Cardoso has become known for scouting soccer players from Brazil’s most remote towns such as Silveira Carvalho, Brazil. In addition to promoting players Cardoso has formed partnerships between American foundations and Brazil to help promote mutual access to equipment and top talent.

After winning MAST and the Disney Showcase Cardoso legitimized his stature as one of the best youth soccer trainers in the United States.

For Cordoso SIMA has become his talent factory a place where he has been able to recruit, train and test players from cross South America.

“SIMA has the resources which allows me to explore the best players who are yet to be discovered like in the most unlikely places of Latin America,” says Cardoso.

Cardoso is like a treasure hunter seeking the best players in the remote corners of Brazil where kids play barefoot and use anything that can roll as a ball. He knows where to look for them and time will tell if one of his players will become America’s Messi.
