In the summer of 1983 Moshe Trop headed a science conference – the first of its kind in Israel – which addressed the subject of “the source of life and its evolution”. The conference was held at The Truman Institute in the Hebrew University and was attended by academics from all over the world.
Questions about evolution and were raised and concepts were consolidated or rendered false. As can be expected the audience was inspired to revisit standard beliefs. Response from the media and politicians was lively: “How dare we question the process of evolution?” Even colleagues from the Faculty of Natural Sciences criticized Trop’s ideas – disregarding “freedom of academic research”.
Even today we can witness the rejection of new theories regarding the “sacred” traditions of thought which characterize the field of Science.
This book serves as a comprehensive answer, founded on the Torah’s format, vis a vis the atheistic belief systems.
Professor Moshe Trop, now retired, with a PhD from Hebrew University in Jerusalem (1970) in biochemistry, was a researcher at Rockerfeller University in New York, Ben Gurion University and Tel Chai College in Israel. He wrote two scientific books about the origin of life, as well as book chapters and over a hundred articles published in scientific journals.
