Dondoks Paris is a newly launched footwear brand, started by two friends Carmen and Charlotte from Paris with an idea to provide stylish yet comfortable footwear for women. They have recently launched the footwear on crowdfunding website Kickstarter with a goal to raise €20,000 for bringing the footwear into the market front.
The idea to start Dondoks was hit in the mind of Carmen while she was traveling to Spain and looking for a pair of nice, colorful sandals suitable for all day wear. She couldn’t find anything as per her liking and after coming back to Paris, she discussed the same with her friend Charlotte, who freshly graduated from a renowned Parisian fashion school. Together they decided to create a footwear brand that would provide high-quality sandals that look feminine, stylish and offer all-day comfort to the wearer.
The Dondoks shoes are available in a variety of designs, which are mainly inspired from the common Latino roots of the founders. The popular hand braided leather is the highlight of these sandals while some of the footwear is decorated with ankle bracelets, lace-ups, and organza blossoms. The footwear is best suited for summers and available in multiple colors to go with different outfits. All the footwear by Dondoksis made of 100% genuine leather with black zipper closure and braided leather straps.
“We found our factory, in the region of Porto Alegre, renowned for its know-how in shoemaking, where many premium European brands already have their productions. Everything is carefully handcrafted, and for our first collection we wanted something original in the design but with natural materials. That's why everything is made out of leather, from SOLE to TOE. There are also little touches of light organza, as a tribute to our past as ballet dancers.”
These exotic sandals are promised to add a fun and quirky touch to any outfit without being too heavy in the pocket. All the products are handmade by artisans from Brazil and designed uniquely unlike the mass market products. The affordable price of the shoes is maintained through a business model that allows them to deliver the shoes directly from the artisans to the customer, eliminating the margins of retail and high rents of shops in prime locations. This is also one of the reasons the founders have decided to sell the shoes on Kickstarter at first. The success of the campaign will ensure the shoes get into production and be delivered to the customers on time. More information about the same is available on the Kickstarter page.
