"The Phantom of the Opera" is the longest running musical on Broadway in New York City with 11,774 performances as of May 15, 2016 and this beloved musical has won countless awards during its run. This two-and-a-half hour musical phenomenon has been critically acclaimed since their opening night. It has been called “Cautious but often clever, the new ‘Phantom’ staging is refreshed rather than significantly reimagined.” Several fans that have attended this show several times giving the show rave reviews each time they attend.
The State Theatre is located at 1519 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland and It is one of the theaters that make up Playhouse Square. It was designed by the noted theater architect Thomas W. Lamb and was built in 1921 by Marcus Loew to be the flagship of the Ohio branch of the Loew's Theatres company. Over the years this majestic and beautiful theatre has hosted countless productions such as: Wicked, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Book of Mormon and more. In 1978, the State Theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of Playhouse Square. This legendary venue underwent massive renovations beginning in 1979 that were completed in 1984.
