The U.S. Is the World's Leading Exporter of Chemical Wood Pulp, with $1.1B (2014) - IndexBox Marketing

The U.S. dominates in the global trade of chemical wood pulp (dissolving grades). In 2014, the U.S. exported 854.5 thousand tonnes of chemical wood pulp (dissolving grades) totaling 1.1 billion USD, 1% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was China, where it supplied 33.5% of its total chemical wood pulp (dissolving grades) exports in value terms, accounting for 18.2% of China's total imports. 

From 2007 to 2014, the U.S. was a net exporter of chemical wood pulp (dissolving grades). In this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. In physical terms, the difference between imports and exports was nominal. 

South Africa and Canada were among the other main global suppliers of chemical wood pulp (dissolving grades) in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were the Czech Republic (+271.5% per year) and Finland (+229.7% per year). 

In 2014, U.S. top 5 trading partners were China, India, Japan, Germany and Indonesia, with a combined 82% share of the U.S.'s wood pulp (dissolving grades) exports. The share of India increased significantly (+17.5 percentage points), while the share of China illustrated negative dynamics (-7.3 percentage points).
