Media Executives Recognize FreeCast as an Alternative to Nielsen Ratings

The almost 4 million subscribers to Rabbit TV Plus represent an ideal sample of users of various OTT services; exactly the type of audience that Nielsen struggles to capture
FreeCast has begun accepting clients for its upcoming data services offering, expected to provide a clearer picture of online audiences.

Following feedback from content producers and television executives at the NAB Show earlier this year, FreeCast Inc is following up on plans to furnish its partners with data from its Rabbit TV Plus service.

The almost 4 million subscribers to Rabbit TV Plus represent an ideal sample of users of various OTT services; exactly the type of audience that Nielsen struggles to capture. While Nielsen slowly tries to move beyond traditional television sets, Rabbit TV is available on smartphones and tablets as well as traditional PCs. Because the service organizes content from thousands of popular online services, allowing users to easily browse and navigate to content, FreeCast is able to track what they watch and where they watch it. This, and other valuable data, will soon be made available to the company’s content partners.

FreeCast CEO William Mobley summed up the challenges facing content producers: “They say we’re in a golden age of television, and modern technology is what makes it better. You can watch anything, anywhere, anytime; that’s a huge advantage to the viewer. But yet somehow amid all this, Nielsen says ratings are down across the board! Everybody can see that that just makes no sense. Nielsen has plenty of excuses and plans, but the bottom line right now is that they’re not doing what programmers rely on them to do. FreeCast’s data services will tackle that problem head on with a much more useful set of data.”

As a Media Aggregation Platform (MAP), FreeCast has unique insight into the viewing habits of almost 4 million Rabbit TV Plus subscribers, which is precisely what the company’s contacts at networks and studios have been looking for. For those partners, the wait is nearly over, as FreeCast has begun accepting clients for its upcoming data services offering, which it hopes to debut by autumn of this year.
