Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Club created history of sort by bringing back the Royal game of elite to masses of Punjab after over 8 decades, with 'Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Premier Challenge'. After the splendid success of the season one, Royal Punjab Polo, the coveted team of MRSPC is making waves by debuting in the second highest Polo event of 16 Goals, Taj Northern India championship (16 Goals) which is being held in Delhi.
The brain child of Mr. Maninder Singh Sethi, President, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Club; Royal Punjab Polo is dedicated to the revival of this Royal equestrian sport in the state. Polo finds its heart in Punjab during the 19th century and spanned over generations in the royal circuit. The Patiala Tigers team of the Patiala Army won the coveted Viceroy’s Cup and Beresford Cup. Punjab also produced the only ten handicappers India has ever produced apart from shaping some of the finest players in Polo like General Joginder Singh and General Jaswant Singh.
Eminent players like Pratap Singh Kanota, Dhruvpal Godara, Shamsheer Ali and Sameer Suhag will represent Royal Punjab Polo at the Taj Northern India championship (16 Goals) and will combat many prominent international players to in the run up to the trophy. The event will witness the ace players saddle up and swag their mallets to conquer not just the trophy but the hearts of hundreds of elite onlookers.
