WEDI Announces Open Registration for Annual Fall Conference

The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation's leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announced today that registration is open for its annual fall conference, WEDI-Con 2014:

RESTON, Va. The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announced today that registration is open for its annual fall conference, WEDI-Con 2014: The Next Level of Health IT Efficiency. WEDI-Con 2014 will take place at the HYATT Regency in Reston, Virginia from October 20-23, 2014.

Each year, WEDI-Con attracts healthcare leaders looking to network and collaborate with a diverse cross-section of the industry including payers, providers, government regulators and industry vendors. Keynote speakers, Karen DeSalvo, MD, MPH, MSc, national coordinator for health information technology; Harry Greenspun, senior advisor at the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, Deloitte LLP; Steven J. Stack, MD, immediate past chair, American Medical Association (AMA) and emergency physician; and Harry Reynolds, director of health industry transformation, IBM Global Healthcare and Life Science Industry, headline a distinguished line-up of presenters. At this year’s four-day conference, sessions will cover a range of health IT topics, including:

• New payment model implementation

• Health plan identification (HPID)

• ICD-10 transition

• Transactions and operating rules, and

• Patient engagement strategies 


Within these tracks, discussions will consist of key business drivers, impact of new models of payment and delivery, privacy and security issues, the impact of mobile technologies, transaction and code sets, among others.

WEDI-Con 2014 event registration is open to WEDI members and non-members. Healthcare stakeholders with specific experience in the discussion topics and at try as well as other stakeholders that ment in healthcare cost above are encouraged to submit a speaking proposal to share their experience, successes, and ideas.
